Hair of the Dog
I’m fairly certain that there was something bad in my last glass of rum yesterday evening…
I did a short login session at work, then began cleaning up the galley, first washing last night’s dishes, then some general wiping down and taking out the trash.
Forward Cabins
The forward cabins were next on the agenda. I had to get the solar panels from the starboard head and move them to the cockpit area. When Mike comes by later, I’ll engage his assistance in getting them stowed in the garage.
I’m back at work with Magic Eraser pads and StarClean, my go-to stainless steel cleaning paste. There’s quite a bit of staining and corrosion that I need to get cleaned up. At least the A/C is keeping up today. I only have one unit running, and when the sun is shining brightly, it barely keeps up.
Other work
I found a spare 12VDC relay (most of my spares are 24VDC) for the horn box and hooked it up, despite not having a multimeter. I’d neglected to remove the fuses for the 2 air horns during assembly. When I tested the button, the sound of 2x 20A Denali airhorns at 120 dB each in my cabin’s enclosed area was quite loud. My ears didn’t stop ringing for quite a while after that.
Out-Out bar closure

Today marked the last day this iconic bar was open. As of tomorrow, they will remove the equipment, and sometime in the next weeks the building will be demolished.
Jay, Mike, and I had a final bucket of Carib, but the music for the upcoming party was just too loud, so we left early. I did hear the music still going past midnight, so the “drink the bar dry” party was evidently still going strong.
