Promises, Promises
Once again, I received no update from Budget Marine regarding shipping the part. I had to send several e-mails requesting a status update and finally received a terse reply with a DHL shipping tracking number.
Checking on this, it was shipped several minutes before I got the e-mail, meaning they hadn’t completed the shipment until I triggered it with my questions. The projected earliest delivery date is next Wednesday, appropriately on April 1st, April Fool’s Day!
They did this despite my repeatedly telling them that if the part couldn’t be delivered this week, I would not want it.
Plans
I will have the machine shop use a manufactured blank or fix up the old part, so it won’t leak. Then they will install it so that I can launch the boat on Friday afternoon without that great big hole in the hull.
