Morning
I had a lot of accumulated office work to take care of in the morning. This took both time and copious amounts of coffee to complete. While I was at the keyboard, Zed was topsides and got to watch the rain come down on both St. Kitts and Nevis.
Noon
Upon completing work and shutting down my system, we got Zanshin ready for the passage across the Narrows and to St. Kitts. Winds were gusting to 5 knots in the anchorage, and after we’d gotten the anchor, we set full sails. This was optimistic, and we didn’t fill the sails until reaching the narrows. We hit 8 knots for about 2 miles, but then the winds failed us, and we slowed back down to 4-5 knots.

After several tacks, we finally made it into the anchorage at White House Bay. This is usually rather empty, so I was surprised to see several boats already occupying the prime real estate. Despite this, we found a nice spot to drop the anchor in 20 feet of water.
Happy Hour

Faced with the option of cooking aboard and potentially giving Zed food poisoning on his last day, we opted to go ashore. The Shipwreck Bar doesn’t have a dinghy dock, and Google Maps shows a coral reef just offshore.

I didn’t want to risk my dinghy prop despite the calm conditions, and we dinghied a half mile further past the bar to a newly constructed dock. This is ostensibly only used for daytime cruise ship guests, so we had no problem putting the dinghy ashore.

We walked along the beach and stopped for refreshments at the Discovery Beach Bar & Grill, but they were in the process of closing. Plus, the sandflies were ferocious and hungry.

Dinner at the Shipwreck was great, both Zed and I had the pulled pork meal.
Back aboard Zanshin, we played oldies into the night and then retired.
