Morning

I had to make some last-minute changes today, and we ended up going off to Nevis. The boatyard in Rodney Bay had raised its prices by over 33% for storing Zanshin in the water for the hurricane season. I emailed around the various marinas and yards in the area. Several answers later, after some currency conversion work, I had my answer.

Here in Antigua, the Jolly Harbour Marina was asking a lower rate for storing Zanshin on the hardstand. While I was quite disappointed at not returning to St. Lucia, I opted to take the less expensive option.
Passage

But as we’d already cleared out of Antigua, we had to leave before we could return. The two options available for short sails were Guadeloupe and St. Kitts & Nevis. As Zed had never been to the latter, we chose that.

Despite the downwind sail, it took a very, very long time to get there. The light winds kept the sails from doing much work, and we departed at 10:00 and arrived in the Pinney’s Beach anchorage after 21:30. The rains over Antigua started early and lasted all day. Our friends from ASW messaged us about flooding over the island; we weren’t surprised, considering the cloud cover.
