I had office work to take care of today, and John departed in the morning to work as well. It remained wonderfully warm and sunny.
I had received my replacement StarLink system and was supposed to return the unit using FedEx and they gave me an RMA number and sticker for the package. I had contacted the service people at StarLink a couple of times and asked if the RMA shipment really was free of charge and they’d confirmed that 3 times. I was wary and wasn’t too shocked when I dropped off the package at the local FedEx office only to find that they want US$418 shipping! Considering that a new unit is US$500 this isn’t a viable option. One can imagine that my return e-mail to the support group was less than enthusiastic.
John had accompanied me on the trip to the FedEx office and we stopped at Huppel the Pub on the way back to cool down from the heat of the day.
