Morning
John had arranged to come home later, but he evidently didn’t make it. The music at the Soggy Dollar Bar had blasted out until about 03:30 and kept me awake a bit, and I awoke at 06:00 still feeling a bit tired. Once I’d made my coffee and signed onto the computer, I saw a WhatsApp message from Phil telling me he’d inadvertently left John ashore and could I check to see if he was at the Soggy. I chose a lull between meetings and zipped ashore to find John sleeping on a couch at the Soggy while the morning crew was busy cleaning up around him. I brought him back to Zanshin and continued work.
At 09:30 the boat cleaners arrived to prepare the hull for my trip south. The 3 of them did quick work, scraping the hull and underwater parts of the boat clean of growth and now I’m certain to get to St. Lucia faster than before.
Noon
I’m still typing away at work and hoping for a puff of wind to move the heat out. The fan is trying to keep me cool and only meeting with partial success. John has gone ashore with the dinghy, and I’ve still got a long list of work items to take care of. I just opened my last can of club soda and will have to get some replenishment ashore tonight.
Night
Was a quiet affair with an early return to Zanshin for me; John opted to stay out a bit longer.
