Rise and Shine
We woke up in time to shower and prepare for today’s races. The winds in the anchorage were very light and the forecast showed some wind, but also some rain.
John went off to his small Boston Whaler and I to my somewhat larger 454 Robertson & Caine catamaran. We got off the dock without mishap and motored to our mooring at the Rendezvous location. At first, I tried to use our orange mark as the mooring, but we quickly realized our error and found the correct location.
The conditions were cloudy, a bit of rain and very little wind coming from the wrong direction. Neil postponed the starts, and we went over the weather on the computer. We used PassageWeather, Windy, Zoom Earth, Windguru and some aviation sites (for the lifted index) to determine if waiting was going to pay off.
Racing
The wind conditions everywhere else were acceptable, but due to the topography of the hills to windward we had different conditions. But fortunately, after 2 hours of loitering about the conditions improved, and we started the racers.
