Night
There was a live band ashore last night, and I’d seen them set up the foam and water cannons plus I’d heard that there was going to be a significant cover charge. So, it came as no surprise that the loud music and revelry lasted until 4AM. But thanks to my white noise generator (the fan) and earplugs it wasn’t much of an issue.
Morning
Once the sun had peeked over the mountains the new solar panels started getting to work and despite running the computer, Starlink and other AC loads (plus the fridge going constantly), the system averaged a goodly amount of current going into the battery bank.
Afternoon
It is a bit hotter today with little rain, and the cloud cover is keeping the panels from giving their utmost. Nonetheless I’m happy with the performance of the new panels despite their being hooked up in series. Going parallel is better, but then the voltage wouldn’t suffice for my 24V battery bank charging system.
By the time mid-afternoon had arrived the solar chargers switched from bulk to absorption mode and continued slowly charging the battery bank. My battery monitor had switched to read “100% charged” at about the time the absorption mode started, so I will need to adjust the settings so that they correspond to the actual state of battery charge.
Ashore
I wanted a quick and small meal ashore and chose to head into the Captain’s Rib Shack as I hadn’t had ribs since being here. It was only half full and I sat down and waited. Then waited some more. About 10 minutes after getting there a group of 4 sat down at a table and also waited a bit for the server to come by. Then they got served and I was once again ignored. Instead of complaining I just packed up my stuff and left. I’m going to think twice before going there again!
