Sunrise
I didn’t get a view of the rising sun today, because I was already in a conference call with Germany. I managed to escape for 5-10 minutes between the calls to brew some much needed coffee.
Noon
While the picture above shows the unobstructed view, my real view while at the notebook is from the picture on the right. All I need to do is shift my focus and look up to the right to catch a glimpse of the ocean and Petite Martinique and Petite St. Vincent.
My first break came at high noon, but my fridge is pretty empty at the moment, so I think I’ll head into Tyrell bay for both sustenance and to check up on the progress on Zanshin.
The tortuous drive to Tyrell Bay had one interesting stretch of road where a good 100 yards of road were blocked left and right with parked cars and leaving just enough room for one car – this was the main road between Hillsborough and Tyrell so despite light traffic it caused more than a bit of honking and traffic.
The yard had completed my second coat of bottom paint and was cleaning the topsides when I arrived, and the crew managed to upsell me the job of cleaning the prop as well. This didn’t take much persuasion on their part, as cleaning the prop involves muriatic (hydrochloric) acid and I don’t have a full-body Tyvek suit to protect me.
Afternoon and Evening
As they were working hard and I had nothing to do aboard the hot boat in the afternoon sun, I returned back to the cottage. After reading a bit I realized that I’d not eaten all day and that it was time to head down to Windward for a pizza at Meh Heart. It was very tasty indeed, but the portion was so large that I barely finished more than half.
