Slow Morning
I awoke early and puttered about the loft a bit. I’d brought my Comandante grinder from the boat, so I made some fresh-ground Ethiopian Aricha bean coffee in the Hario filter and finished off my last fresh egg for breakfast. It is a lazy Saturday so far and I’ve caught up a bit of work in my virtual office and now that noon is approaching I’ll go on a short hike around the area.
Noon and afternoon
After a brief walk in the midday sun, I returned and did a bit of computer work and lazed in the hammock. I think I’ll see about getting one for the boat, it is quite relaxing swinging about in a comfortable hammock.
I’ll be changing my place tomorrow, so I cleaned up a bit in preparation for leaving the Tree Tops in the morning. The Carnival celebrations are going on, with occasional cars driving by with Soca blaring and Jeannette is preparing for Monday morning 4AM get-together and partying already. I am certainly not going to get up at that hour; my motivation level for the wild island version of Germany’s Fasching isn’t that high.
Because the bus service is going to be non-existent or quite sketchy and taxi will be difficult to find, I decided to stay on up on the hilltop for dinner and cooked some pasta with pre-made sauce. It was filling.
While washing up I noticed that my bathroom sink has an inhabitant. Not a bad place to hide, but any water down there will taste pretty soapy indeed.
