Early Morning
There was a cacophony of new creaking sounds from the joinery aboard the boat tonight as Easter Monday arrived. The rolling has increased significantly and even Mark on Sea Life said it was the worst night to date. I should have stuck with my original anchoring spot because I gained little from my change of venue.
Morning
I did get coffee last night and therefore managed to get my day started. I did a half day of work on Friday and am doing office work this morning as well. It is nice to be able to work remotely and not be bound by the constraints of normal office working hours.
The rolling seems to have settled in the past half hour, which makes concentrating on office work easier since I don’t have to keep things from moving about. Sadly, the rolling has commenced once again.
Afternoon
Easter Monday is progressing apace. I’ve tried to do some work aboard, but haven’t made any progress at all. Perhaps tomorrow the swell might abate and let me do some basic maintenance. I found out that I’ll need to revisit my bathroom water leak, it is still dripping after all. I thought that just tightening and cleaning components did the trick, but I’ve got saltwater in the bilge again and the fitting is wet to the touch.
Dinner
I didn’t want to cook dinner aboard tonight, it is too much work trying to hold on while the boat is rolling, so I went ashore. The dinghy dock at the SMYC is the most secure and reliable location, so I started there.
And ended there as well, deciding to have a quick meal there and then to return home before dark.
