Easter Sunday
The Easter Sunday morning began early for me and I started off cooking some Bolognese sauce while charging the batteries. I’ll let the sauce simmer for a while and then store it in the fridge for a day or two. That’ll bring out a bit more flavor; and allow me to buy some Parmesan cheese.
The rolling ceased last night, but is picking up again now. Regardless, the conditions are pretty settled and roll acceptable, so I’ll not re-anchor.
Morning
I made my last cup of coffee this morning and will be going ashore soon for more. I’ll eat breakfast at the SMYC and then see if the Chinese grocery is open for business.
Late morning
It is now 10:30 and I haven’t left the boat yet. The rolling is borderline OK except one wake or large wave which caused my simmering Bolognese lid to fly away. And spill sauce on the oven and floor.
Noon
I just re-anchored close to Sea Life. The spot ahead of him was available, according to him. Yet when I reached it I found that it would be a bit tight and put me a little too close to shore should the winds shift. So I anchored 100 yards further downwind. Despite the relocation I think that the rolling has gotten worse rather than better. Oh well.
I did some housekeeping on my website and was surprised to find that the most popular link was to a video I put up on how to light a Petromax lantern. I wonder how they find that link.
I’m now certain that this spot is worse than my previous one. Luckily, I know that Mark doesn’t look at my blog and I’m too proud to re-anchor. So here I remain. I transferred the most recent 40l batch of fuel to main tank. No spillage, but it was a close call with all the rolling around at anchor.
Evening
It felt great to be ashore again after the rolling about. I walked up and down the street to stretch my legs and to scan the restaurants for possible visits. I stopped at Pizza Italy for a quick pizza and it was tasty.
