Conditions aboard are a bit better than yesterday. I’m still rolling at anchor, but it is now a constant rolling while yesterday there would be periods of stability followed by extreme movement. I’d prefer to be ashore today; but I’ve got conference calls to prepare for and other work on the computer to do.
I wanted to look into the generator issues as I’d gotten some good advice the day before. But the boat’s erratic motions make that impracticable.
Morning
Some clouds made for a gloriously colorful sunrise this morning. The seemingly calm surface of the ocean belies the rolling swell hidden therein.
My first calls went well, although on one of them I had to grab my coffee cup before it spilled. I’d love to go ashore for some croissants and café au lait, but my schedule won’t permit that long a break.
Rest of the day
I had a long day in the office today and it is now 16:00 and I’m quitting for the day. I’ll grab a quick shower and then flee ashore to escape this incessant rolling.
My first task was to pick up my laundry at Lagoonie’s. I’m down to wearing my formal shirts – those polo shirts with a collar. Those are usually reserved for my C&I visits. There’s a Chinese grocery store next to the laundry where I picked up some food and drink.
I went to the SMYC to see the last bridge opening but it was a bit disappointing, the biggest vessel was a 50-ish catamaran.
I chatted with folks in the bar and listened to the first set of some live vocals to playback music, but it was too loud to allow further conversation so I left. Zanshin was still rolling at anchor upon my return.
