Morning
Even before the sun rose above the hills, I knew it was going to be a hot and windless day. The waters in the bay were flat and mirrored the sky. I had a couple of morning calls to deal with and had my fan running for fresh air after 9AM.
Both the inbound and outbound bridge openings were busy with some big yachts transiting. I saw the sleek Visione leave and suppose that she is headed off to St. Barths for the Bucket. Update: I just checked the scratch sheet for the Bucket and she is participating.
Noon
Luckily there has been frequent cloud cover that has helped cool things off down here. Work is progressing apace, although this new software that I’m working is both quirky and buggy.
There was a PAN-PAN issued by the MRCC Fort-de-France on the VHF about a missing powerboat with 3x300HP engines and 2 people aboard. They were reported missing and presumed to be on the French side of the island around Marigot.
Sometime later, I saw what I’m going to assume is the same boat being towed past, half-submerged. The PAN-PAN has since been cancelled.
Afternoon
I had a long work day made longer by the hot and windless conditions below deck. But for once I felt like I’d made some progress. After a swim and short scrape at the hull I showered and headed ashore for the 5PM opening at the SMYC.
No big boats came in so my camera got a rest.
Evening
I remained at the SMYC for a salad dinner and listened to the live band for while. I returned to the boat at 8PM and listened to some music while lounging in the cockpit.
