Sunrise
TGIF! A good sleep and an early start to the workday was promising, then my PC started acting up after I’d logged into work. I think that some drivers installed yesterday and those exacerbated the problem and prevented booting. Luckily, I had a recent backup, which I restored. I just overwrote the OS and now the PC seems to be back to normal.
Morning
At the office we’d just gotten the newest software installed and I tested all of the bugs that were (supposed to) be fixed in this version. That, plus other work, took care of the whole morning. I had to restrict myself on coffee, as I’m running out of milk and wanted to make sure that I had enough left over for at least one cup tomorrow.
Afternoon
I just went topsides to dump the grounds overboard and saw a poor guy paddling a dinghy towards the channel. Modern dinghies are fast under power, but almost impossible to steer or row with the supplied paddles. And if one has a counter-current or headwind one might as well just give up before getting exhausted. I went out and towed him to the customs dock, then towed him and another sailor back to their chartered catamaran. My attempts at starting their outboard weren’t successful. I hope that they can reach someone at Sunsail to repair or replace the outboard. TGIF!
Evening
On my way ashore I detoured to check out the dinghy-less catamaran, armed with my spark plug wrench. It wasn’t necessary, as the chase boat from Sunsail was already there and they had switched outboards already. I once again refused a bottle of vino, believing in paying-it-forward instead of taking-it-now.
I was happy to get ashore and have solid ground underfoot. Swaying on my seat at the SMYC bar, I talked with my neighbors for a bit and had a small snack in lieu of dinner.
The live music was good and I returned to the boat after their first set.
