Morning
I’ve caught up on sleep and on this post-regatta quiet day I managed to get a lot of work done on the computer.
Noon and Afternoon
There was little incentive for me to go out and about onshore. Thus I remained aboard until the 5PM bridge opening and only went ashore for happy-hour. I stayed to see if anything big was coming into the lagoon. Nothing particularly large came through the bridge. I thought I’d try some food at the Dinghy Dock for an early dinner. The place wasn’t too full and wind was blowing the right way to keep the restaurant from smelling. Occasionally a noisome and pervasive smell of what some call “wet seaweed” but is in actuality sewage can be found there.
The food was good, but the pricing for the beers on tap is not commensurate with the beer quality and the prices elsewhere on island. I certainly won’t be having another small $7 Hefeweizen there again.
Evening
I opted to return to Zanshin afterward dinner. I read a book in the comfort of the cockpit until my eyes shut of their own accord. The winds are dying down and tomorrow Iso ‘ll be taking down my genoa. Then I can bring it to the sailmaker and order a new one based on the old dimensions.
