Morning
Post-Heineken regatta and it is time to return back to reality. That means early morning conference calls and dealing with what we like to call the “real world”.
It took some time to catch up on e-mails and other work-related activity. Most of the morning, in fact.
I’ve got over 1000 images from the regatta and need to cull the herd and whittle the total amount down to a manageable number. Plus I need to weed out similar images; I’ve already done the first pass and removed duplicates.
Noon
I had a bit of baguette frozen and put some butter on that once it had thawed. I’ll go ashore for dinner. Work continued as expected and I watched lots of boats depart the lagoon and leave the Simpson Bay anchorage as well. The mass exodus after the regatta has begun. A lot of the charter boats are now returning to their respective bases. The big boats are heading to their next regatta locations and the pure racers from the neighboring islands are sailing back home.
Afternoon
I didn’t even take my camera out of the backpack today, so don’t have any pictures at all. Not that there was anything worth photographing that crossed my path today. I did neglect to pack the camera when I went ashore; but if I trace my path mentally there was nothing new to be seen.
Evening
I dinghied ashore and had a happy-hour drink at the SMYC and then a tasty burger at the Tap and Still before returning aboard. Thus went my return to reality after the Regatta.
