After that big meal and lots of red wine last night I slept deeply and long, waking up with the sun. I’d missed my first meeting of the day by over 2 hours, but I don’t think that they expected me to participate in that one. It is going to be another fine day in Grand Case today.
Sometime during the night I’d gotten a new neighbor, a large 60 foot Sunreef catamaran. In the light of day the color scheme is nice indeed. But with the light wind we are swinging quite close on occasion. Not quite close enough to pass the grey poupon mustard across, but almost.
Lunch
I took a swim just now and the water felt almost cold. That just shows how acclimated one can get belowdecks with no wind. I cleaned the starboard side with the big metal scraper to remove the accumulated growth. Then did about half the port side before needing to take a break. The combination of gooey green stuff and saltwater made me feel a bit nauseous.
Afternoon
After some more work in the virtual office I went ashore for a stroll up and down the main street. It is saddening to see how many of the houses are still untouched since hurricane Irma passed through.
I couldn’t decide whether to eat ashore or make something aboard Zanshin. I ended up having a happy-hour Carib beer with a Johnny-Cake at the Ribs Shack and watching the crowds around me. After that I returned aboard with the firm intent of going ashore later, but that didn’t happen. I made some fried rice with vegetables and watched a movie on the computer before retiring for the evening. Thus ends another fine day in Grand Case.
