Night
Thankfully the now settled conditions in Grand Case made for a good night’s sleep. The north swell disappeared as forecast. The winds occasionally will gust through the anchorage, but nothing compared to hammerlike microbursts that have been sweeping the anchorage.
Morning
Since I’d gone to sleep early I also woke early and am enjoying my first coffee right now as the sun rises over the horizon. The boat now offers a stable platform and today I’m going to start working on some of the tasks that have accrued over the past weeks.
I haven’t gotten as much done as I’d hoped
- removed top step nonskid and replaced it with new tape
- started to add the USB connector to the chartplotter. Missing router tool
- cleaned cushions
- washed and dried the dishes
- Removed produce from fridge with strange fuzzy growths on them
- Lubricated aft shower
Lunch
My fridge is looking a bit empty and I am going to go ashore for lunch, and perhaps walk to the shopping area at Hope Estate to get the drill bit I need for the USB connector.
While I made it ashore and took a walk up and down the main street, I made it no further than that. I did meet the owner of Calmos Cafe and got a sneak preview of the construction process inside. It looks great but he didn’t want me to take any pictures prior to the new opening in about 2 weeks time. Having stretched my legs, I returned to the boat and did … nothing.
Dinner
I still had one hamburger patty and buns so made a small dinner aboard on the BBQ. I got ready for a night in the town, but the dinghy dock was rather crowded and I realized I wasn’t in mood for doing much ashore. So I returned to the boat and read my book.
