Morning
St. Martin in the distance
St. Martin in the distance

Another late day for us today. After finishing off the last of the Antigua coffee we made some German Bratkartoffeln with the 3 potatoes left over from last night’s dinner. Just the potatoes, some onions and eggs. I remembered that I’d forgotten the bacon after we’d already eaten…

Kensho anchored in Anse Colombier

We were joined by a large megayacht, Kensho, last night. When it first arrived we couldn’t tell how big it really was. But after it anchored and turned on the lights it was an impressive sight. And it looks even better this morning.

Constitutional

We dinghied ashore and the three of us managed to pull the dinghy above the high-water line on the beach without injury. Our goal was to walk the windward side path to Anse des Flamands and see if we could snack at one of the restaurants that were sure to be there. We didn’t make it far and opted to return to the Anse Colombier beach.

Lunch

Our supplies are running a bit low, so for lunch we just had some crackers with cheese.

Afternoon and dinner

Swimming, listening to music, enjoying the fast internet and a happy hour libation or two filled our afternoon. We’d decided to make a simple spaghetti Bolognese accompanied by a bottle of Rioja.

I’d not removed the ground beef from the freezer, but the cast iron pan and some high heat quickly took care of that. I added onions, garlic, some herbs and tomato passata to the browned beef and let it simmer for an hour. When it was ready the weather had changed and the boat was rolling a bit. This upset Sandra’s appetite, but Sascha and I more than made up for that and the dinner meal was soon consumed.
