Night
Falmouth Harbour is a large (for the Caribbean) and protected anchorage. There is a bit of fetch when the winds pick up, and on rare occasions a bit of swell makes it into the entrance. But for all intents and purposes it is a great anchorage. Which explains why I slept so well, and so long, last night.
Morning
I need to work remotely this week. I’ve got several meetings which I can’t miss. Which is why I didn’t continue my passage onwards towards St. Martin but came in here. Other anchorages where I could go are not as protected or at inconvenient distances. Or have no facilities ashore.
Armed with my coffee I went working from Antigua in the morning and made good progress. But I’m still looking forward to the end of next week and full-time vacation. I’ll be receiving friends from Germany for 2 weeks and have taken time off for that period.
Noon
I’ve barely stood up today, sitting at the computer the whole time. Just one break from work when a big squall came by. I stripped down to shorts and scrubbed the decks to get rid of salt encrustation from the passage. And I wanted to make sure that my anchor held. Despite 27C temperature, the combination of water and wind had me shivering when I finished my job. But it is good to know that my anchor held in the strong winds; this makes going ashore and leaving the boat alone much easier.
Afternoon
I finished working from Antigua and went ashore to stretch my legs a bit. This took me to English Harbour and back.
Evening
I decided for an early dinner, and Trappas was just the place for me to get a seat, eat, and return to the boat.
