Morning
Today is mainly a boat office day. The bimini and dodger are up and protecting the boat from the sun the inside temperature is a lot cooler. While the free marina internet was sufficient to login and work remotely, it is far too slow for videoconferencing. I fired up the pre-paid MiFi SIM and chewed through some of my 100Gb of data doing several Teams and WebEx conferences.
I had a background image activated so that I wouldn’t incur any jealousy with my actual background. While my colleagues all have sweaters and winter clothes on and the heating running full blast, I’ve got light clothing on and have the A/C running at the dock.
Lunch
I took a break from the boat office and went ashore for a small lunch at Cafe Ole. After the meal I went into the tourist store to see about getting some sunglasses, as my last pair met an untimely demise when I sat upon them. They’ve got some very nice top-end products, but sunglasses aren’t a fashion item for me, they are a safety device. I’ll go into Island Waterworld later to see if they have sunglasses on sale.
Afternoon
I’ve got the dinghy in the water and the outboard engine placed at the ready but haven’t done the heavy lifting yet. I did turn on the chart plotter in the cockpit after removing the covering and started the software update process using the Wi-Fi connection in the marina. This took 3 hours to update but was ultimately successful.
I had an early dinner ashore at Elena’s and got back aboard before the rains set in.
