Although I’m relaxing at Soco House, I do need to work on Zanshin. The boat looks good from the outside. And inside everything was perfectly in order as well. But the stainless needs polishing and the dodger & bimini need to get put up before I can really work aboard. With my injured arm I won’t be able to do this myself. All those hustlers on the docks will have their chance at work.
Relaxing at the Soco House
The all-inclusive resort currently has only a handful of guests. There are more than double that number of staff, so getting service is easy. The room is very nice and clean. Both breakfast and dinner have menus to choose from rather than the buffet I expected. And the local Piton beer is ice-cold and goes down really quickly in the heat of the day. I can certainly get used to this all-inclusive resort experience. All those creature comforts makes it difficult to get up and leave the grounds.
I did spend some time with a British couple here and we talked and shared meals. They got a tour of the marina including a tour inside my boat as well as on a 40″ Lagoon catamaran. I think many are surprised at how roomy boats are inside.
