It was great to be back aboard and my first sleep aboard was a good one, although I did wake up too early. I worked on getting the cabin ready and in the later morning Andrew came by again. It turns out that he was departing on Saturday afternoon, but the boat wasn’t back yet and the hotel was booked solid; but I’ve got a spare cabin or two and we arranged that he’d spend the night. It turned out to be a great deal for me, as he worked hard all day cleaning the cockpit, garage and boat. We did a trip to town for provisioning, where I ended up spending a small king’s ransom on provisioning and I hope that the steaks turn out to be as tasty as they looked!
Further work in the late afternoon was interrupted by sun downers and we then proceeded to Cane Garden Bay for dinner at The Elm and to listen to “The Elmtones” do their Friday night show. I met Candace and Malcolm at their usual table along with a whole crew of people that I knew from the traveltalk forum and we all exchanged our forum “handles”, which were more easily recognizable than our actual names. The food was good and the band excellent, while the sax player was absent they were joined for a couple of songs by a guest musician who sang and played lead guitar for several songs ranging from Santana to Stevie Ray Vaughan with a brief layover at B.B. King’s place.
Luckily Andrew was the designated driver so I could sample the quality of the local Presidente beer and once back at Nanny Cay I was asleep within minutes of hitting the bed.
