The strong and gusting winds (one arriving cruiser mentioned 39 knots of wind on passage) kept me aboard and uncomfortable much of the day. I did a bit of stainless cleaning, but was dismayed to find salt spray dried on the decks – I had cleaned up upon arrival but the winds had whipped up some spray despite my not insignificant windage. So I might wait until the winds die down before doing serious cleaning work. I caught a bit of sun, some more sleep and relaxed.
Rocking B had a freezer emergency today – they have around 80 meals prepared and frozen and in the course of diagnosing intermittent problems those same problems became constant – and permanent. So I emptied out all of my frozen water jugs in the freezer that I was using as ballast and now have a full fridge. I hope to be able to return the 70 or so meals to them once their system regains health!
For happy-hour drinks I joined the crew of Katzenellenbogen at the Blue Bay bar ashore and later we walked to a literal hole-in-the-wall chicken place which served fantastic chicken and fries and we would never have found it had we not had directions and had Stephen not visited it during daylight hours.
