2014 Trip 2014-04-07

Margaret and Ken from Rocking B had a tour of the island arranged for the day and I opted to join them and am very glad that I did so, as this tour was quite different from the one I’d taken previously. Our driver, Paul, was very knowledgeable in the flora of the island and we got a lot of tips and hints about the herbal and healing qualities of many of the local plants. We started off the tour with him showing us his house and garden with all of the plants growing in it, then we took off on a lengthy tour of the island. Rather than describe too much of the tour in detail I’ll post more pictures than usual, as we did get to see a lot of nice sites.

We returned from the tour in the early afternoon and we all busied ourselves aboard our respective boats until the evening’s dinner aboard Katzenellenbogen where they had prepared a very tasty dinner of the South African national dish, Bobotie (pronounced more like “Bobourtie”) which was awesome. The wind was still gusting and Margaret and Ken opted to postpone their planned departure tomorrow for a day when the weather was more promising, so we shared a bottle of Bordeaux and chatted about various things until late in the evening.

My old hosting company, who will remain unnamed although their name starts with “go” and the end rhymes with “baddy”, changed their software with little notice and the original SV-ZANSHIN.COM site stopped working overnight.

Every.  Single.  Page.

So I’ve transitioned to another provider. These original pages have been migrated, but all the formatting and other features are gone and the will still contain numerous display issues and formatting anomalies.

The manual effort of conversion is too much and not worth the effort involved. Over 1000 blog diary pages like this one are going to remain in this condition. The pictures are full-scale, but won’t expand when clicked. But you can can copy them to view them in their original splendour.
